doing some research for a client, came across your site. Great post. There are some great products in Idaho w/ recycled glass (was over there a month or so ago and saw that they were recycling glass into counter tops etc.) pretty cool. I think green is the new “in” thing and I’ve seen more and more clients look for green/energy saving elements.

Great advice! I’ve seen a lot of my real estate clients here in Washington, DC, green their kitchens and have it pay off when selling their homes.

All good points. I just remodeled a green kitchen, and some other key points are:

* Reuse as much of your existing kitchen as possible
* Maintain a small/efficient footprint for your kithcen layout

Interesting stuff indeed, hard to say where everything ends up once the economy picks back up. I have to say there has been a war on savers lately, especially when we see where interest rates end up 5 years from now!

Geothemal heat and airconditioning has now got a boost. The federal government has a new program with a 30% tax credit and some states have additional credits. The systems are so efficent and are now going to be put to more use.

Everyone needs to realize that the real estate market in Oregon, or elsewhere, IS NOT coming back for twenty-plus years. On top of the overpriced real estate market, there aren’t any jobs. We must all bite the bullet, accept the illusion we all bought into, and lower our ridiculous idea of what type of return we can get. We need to sell now…get rid of your headache, before it becomes a migraine.
